Raised in Springfield, Mo. My roots in the Ozarks go back to the 1830s
Started playing guitar in 1973
Influenced by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, George Barnes, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Eldon Shamblin, Eddie Lang, and Dick McDonough.
Studied Jazz at Middle Tennessee State University
Studied Communication at Missouri State University
Graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of General Studies degree
Performed in rock, jazz, blues, and country bands
Performed on stage with Eddie Pennington, Duck Baker, Steve Kaufman, Merle Travis, and many other musicians
Perform in the trio, “83 Skidoo”
Teach, perform, moderate, and judge at the Merle Travis Weekend in Mountain View, AR.
Finalist in two national thumbpicking championships
Springfield has been my home since childhood – with the exception of four years spent in Nashville for college
I’m married and have two children
